Inauguration of new Congregation at South Chennai

More Photos CHENNAI: A new church of Mylapore Diocese of the Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church was inaugurated on Sunday, 27th November 2011 by Mor Osthatheos Isaac, Metropolitan of the Mylapore Diocese. Thirumeni also offered the Holy Qurbana and blessed the faithful prior to the inauguration. The kalpana of His Beatitude Catholicos of India, Aboon Mor Baselios Thomas I was read during the Service. The new church is named after Parumala Thirumeni and will be known as 'St. Greogorios Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church'. It will function at YMCA Hall, OMR, Perungudi. Holy Mass will be conducted on every Sunday at 8 a.m. Rev. Fr. Johns Koshy Mannakuzhyil will be the vicar of this church and can be contacted at 97898 59659. Very Rev. K. J. John Corepiscopa of St. Mary’s Church Perambur, Rev. Fr. T. M. Mathews of St. Mary’s Church Kelambakkam, Rev. Fr. Aby Alias of St. Thomas' Church Anna Nagar, and Rev. Fr. Sherrin, St. Mary’s Knanaya Church Pallavaram spoke on the occasion. Rev. Fr. Aby Paul of St. George’s Church Avadi and Rev. Fr. Sibi Paul of St. Thomas Church Anna Nagar were also present. Mr. K.K Thomas proposed vote of thanks. Rev. Dn. Bennet Kuriakose, Rev. Dn. Maju, Rev. Dn. Ebin Alias and Rev. Dn. Alex Paul assisted the Service.
