Indian Orthodox Group tried to intrude into Puthencuriz St. Peter's & St. Paul's JSOC Premises.

8 DEC, SUNDAY:- By 10 45 the priest belonging to the Indian Orthodox faction 'sneaked in' to the church when most of our faithful had left the church, after the Holy Mass. He was accompanied by a few Indian Orthodox members and anti-social elements.... The church office-bearers informed them that they are clearly violating the court order and requested them to kindly avoid problems. Instead of getting out of the compound, they assaulted the office-bearers and Sunday School Staff members. After the assault was over, the police officials reached the spot. The Jacobite Syrian Church expected that they would uphold the court order and evict the anti-socials. Instead, the respected Sub Inspector, shouted at the parishioners and attacked our faithful, cruelly. Soon, our parishioners and hundreds of faithful, from the neighboring churches conducted a march to the Puthencruz Police Station. H.G. Athanasius Elias led the protests. Soon, the Jacob Burdano of Malankara, H.B. Dr. Baselious Thomas-I Bava, ( who's our our courage and confidence) reached the scene and started fasting infront of the P/S, demanding stern action against the culprits. Hundreds of faithful, from all over the district, thronged to the venue to join H.B.'s Struggle For Justice. By afternoon, in the talks held with the authorities, it was decided that stern action would be immediately taken against all miscreants & the sub Inspector. The faithful welcomed the decision with cries of joy. H.B. informed that H.B. will walk with the faithful from the P/S to the Patriarchal Centre. Thus, due to God's Grace, the "protest march" to the P/S got converted to the "victory march", back to the Patriachal Centre. H.G. Athanasius Elias, H.G. Ivanios Mathews, H.G. Theophilos Kuriakose, H.G. Dioscorous Kuriakose, H.G. Osthathios Issac were at the fasting venue, with Bava. H.B. was joined by all these Metropolitans and H.G. Gregorios Joseph, in the victory march too.
